This chimney in Eaton, Indiana was in a world of hurt. Unfortunately the area where the roof meets the siding on the house had been inadequately protected and over time moisture was leaking inside, causing the wood to rot away beneath the surface without the homeowner even knowing! The wood had gotten so rotted over time that the siding around the chimney needed to be replaced and both sides of the chimney that touched the roof needed to be torn off and replaced to ensure that there wouldn't be any further problems with this in the future.
Our crews were happy to be able to go out and provide peace of mind to this customer that had been having roof leak issues for a very long time and have had other contractors come out to repair the problem, but were never really able to get to the bottom of the issue. Thankfully our experts here at Bone Dry were able to address the issue and ensure that this problem will no longer be a recurring issue for this new member of the Bone Dry Family!
This roof was undergoing some serious issues when it was discovered that an an area had been subjected to a substantial amount of moisture damage where the valley met the gutter line. Our roofing specialists see things like this relatively often and know the most efficient way to address the issue. Our crews tore off the old algae stained shingles and followed up by installing ice and water shield as an extra layer of protection and finishing the repair with the install of the matching shingles over the top.
Now the area is far more efficient and will not be causing damage to the rest of the roofing system.
These rain diverters were installed by one of our best repair specialists here at Bone Dry Roofing! Not only do they look sleek and seamless, but they will also serve an incredible purpose. Now this particular valley that had just been suffering the large bulk of all of the rainfall, will no longer have to suffer extensively in comparison to the rest of the roof. It is always important to look at the entirety of the situation and have a well educated specialist address the issue with an estimate based on knowledge and not simply a guess.
This vinyl sided chimney had a number of issues going on with it. When our crews inspected the area and performed a water test, it was determined that the seal and flashed area surrounding the the chimney area and down the back side of the saddle was leaking fairly severely. This led to the conclusion to apply ice and water shields beneath the shingles and flash the area correctly and then follow up by shingling the area completely. And it looks far better than before, and isn't leaking water into the rest of the house, great job guys!
This roofing system in Noblesville, Indiana needed the upgrade of a lifetime to ensure maximum ventilation potential in the attic space. This would prolong the life span of the roof for as long as possible. Ensuring the best possible ventilation in any roofing system is the real secret to enabling it to live out it's full longevity, and while an aluminum ridge vent gets the job done, it doesn't do nearly as well as the shingle vent that this one was replaced with.
The science in these seemingly simple things is truly astounding and can very well make a huge difference in how long your roof lasts and whether or not your attic space is ventilated properly. Let our experts come give you a free inspection of your entire system today!
This roof pipe in Noblesville, Indiana already had a rain collar on it when our crews showed up. This old and weathered rain collar had seen far better days. Due to the aging and wear and tear that just simple and normal weather can have on this type of rubber material, it was time for a new one. A new rain collar would help adequately seal off that space between the pipe and underlying roof layers that lie just below the pipe boot that sits between the pipe and the outer elements that put that area at more risk than other areas specifically.
Thanks guys, and great job homeowner for keeping up with the little things on your roof before they catch up with your overall roofing system!
This beautiful ridge cap had suffered some damage in the midst of this crazy weather. One of the shingles along this ridge cap was cracked and torn. Usually issues like this, that sit at the very top of a roof line can go unnoticed for years and years and allow damage to worsen. Luckily, this homeowner had the sense to have a free roof inspection conducted by our specialists here at Bone Dry Roofing. Thankfully, all of these issues were caught early on and a serious issues with the rest of the roof did not arise and it was simply this singular shingle along the ridge cap that needed to be replaced.
On this roof in Noblesville Indiana there were a couple shingles that were missing right along the corner edge. This is a more susceptible area to moisture being able to leak inside because it is where there are two pieces of plywood come together. Our repair team was able to make it out to this home and replace those shingles along the edge with new shingles to ensure that there will not be a chance of moisture leaking in at that spot. Restoring peace of mind to the homeowner and ensuring that this roof will be around for many years to come. Great job guys!
This HVAC flue was allowing moisture to get where it should not have been in the underlying layers of the roof which was causing the surrounding areas to become potential problems as well. However, after our crew laid down the wonderful ice and water shield to ensure dramatically better moisture protection and new shingles - the area was assured to be as good as new!
This roof was feeling the impact of not having a drip edge installed when the new roof was constructed. Due to a few noticeable leaks and collateral damages discovered during an estimate, it was decided that drip edge would need to be installed along this particular gable to ensure no further damage would occur. Great job guys and thank you for yet again giving another customer the peace of mind that they deserve!
Due to how badly the chimney was damaged, Bone Dry Masonry had to replace all shingles and flashing around it. We also installed an ice and water shield underlayment throughout the exposed area before installing said shingles and flashing. After the entire bottom part of the chimney was repaired, sealant was added and all debris was removed. The chimney is now restored to its original glory!
Flashing is supposed to keep moisture from getting into the chimney, the roof, and the plywood decking beneath the shingles on any roof. This flashing that was supposed to be protecting the roof and chimney was long past it's lifespan and unfortunately it had started to damage the underlying layers of the roof. Even more, the brick on the chimney had stayed "wet" for so long that the chimney was right on the cusp of being compromised.
Thankfully it was the Bone Dry Repair Team that came to this homeowners rescue right in time, giving this chimney a completely transformed look and taking care of the moisture leaking in issue. Thanks guys, you did a great job!
This homeowner had a leak and thought it was only affecting the roof and the decking beneath it. This is not the case when it has gone ignored and unnoticed for so long. The leak was in the seam of a valley and up against siding, making it difficult to get to. This is why it is so important to have those extra layers of water proofing.
Additional layers are installed to protect the areas that are vulnerable to water so that the damage doesn't start to spread to the surrounding areas, like beneath the siding. Our experts were able to take care of the issue and repair the damaged areas. Looks as good as new! Great Job Guys!!!!!
This roof was relatively old but was overall in decent shape. There were some specific areas of concern for water leaks, like around the chimney, in the valleys, and along the eaves of where the roof met the house siding. This small area was decently damaged because it had truly suffered the majority of the wear and tear from rainfall over the years and it was starting to show.
It was obvious to our trained specialists eyes, while he was giving an inspection and estimate, that the decking beneath was in bad shape and it would need to be replaced. Sure enough, when they peeled back the layers of the shingles they found water damaged decking beneath and our crew was happy to step up to the plate and restore peace of mind to the homeowner by installing new decking correctly and putting down the extra layer of ice and water shield on top of it to prevent it from happening again. These details truly do make all the difference!

This single slope on the side of an Indianapolis, Indiana roof had experienced a certain amount of wood rot in specified areas of the decking. This happened because of exposure to moisture over a certain period of time. Our crews were called out and were able to assess the area and determine the problem and how it had affected the underlying layers of the entire structure. Once the issue had been addressed, it was determined that because only that side had been affected by the moisture, it would only be that slope that would need to be replaced. Luckily - the damage hadn't gotten to the other slope and the homeowners addressed the leaking problem to avoid further problems in the years to come!
This chimney in Indianapolis, Indiana was outdated and needed an aesthetic uplift. It was in need of a full replacement because of the age of the roof. There were parts of it that were starting to rust and cause leaking issues. When this starts to happen, getting new flashing needs to be addressed asap. New Flashing will look far cleaner and also provide a far better protective layer to the underlying layers of shingles, felt, and decking. New flashing will ensure that the area is moisture tight and that there will be no issues with leaking water to those underlying layers.
This beautiful chimney in Indianapolis, Indiana had one major set back to it. It was slowly whittling away at the overall longevity of the entire roofing system. When those areas of flashing aren't executing their intended purpose properly, it is allowing moisture to creep inside. When that happens, it is only a matter of time before you start seeing the leaks, rust, and parts that need to be replaced. That just makes the cost go higher and higher. It's important to keep up with all of that and make absolutely sure that your roof is well equipped to take on any weather that comes its way.
This small section of roof and siding had suffered long term water damage and wood rot beneath due to exposure to moisture for so long. This problem had been ongoing and finally got bad enough to where the problem could not be ignored. A seemingly small fix that can save any homeowner from more extensive costs down the road is to replace the tab shingles on your roof that fall off after normal wear and tear. Replacing these tabs doesn't take long but can make all the difference in preventing moisture from leaking to those underlying layers and causing wood rot to the decking beneath. Simply by replacing these tabs you can make sure that you stay away from those much larger issues in the years to come.
The old pipe boot was not providing an adequate seal around the pipe to ensure that moisture would not leak in when the moist weather came rolling through the area. This is an issue that our repair experts see a lot of. As a result, they know how to fix this to ensure that it will never affect the surrounding areas on your roof and cause even further damage than just a simple leak.
These are the kinds of issues that typically go unnoticed until its too late. The damage will spread into those other layers and affect them in ways that will wind up costing the owners much more in the long run. Thankfully fixing them and keeping up with them can save your roof completely and is entirely worth the much smaller expense of keeping up with the small details.
This section of where the gutter downspout came onto the roof needed extra protection in order to ensure that the water coming down the gutter downspout would not wear more heavily on it. This would cause further issues due to the more than usual wear and tear to the area. The existing flashing provided some protection in a way but it wasn't sealing off any of the areas that needed waterproofing. It was simply a cover that water could get underneath at the perfect angle. Our crews have seen this issue many times and thus it was not a problem for us to fix the existing flashing by installing new and sealing it correctly. Looks great guys!
This roof in Zionsville Indiana was in a heavily wooded area where it geographically more susceptible to a tree falling on top of it and puncturing a hole in it. After a number of strong storms came rolling through the area, a tree limb came loose and fell into this roof, leaving a lot of damage in it's wake. Thankfully, this homeowner called Bone Dry out right away and our repair crews were able to tarp over the affected areas before making it out a few days later with the perfect shingle to fully fix the area entirely. We were happy to restore this customers peace of mind and ensure that there roof was once again safe and water tight.
This rain collar had lived out its full life span and had endured all of the weathering it could possibly muster. Changing of the seasons and weather conditions caused this rain collar on this bathroom pipe to crack over time. That initial crack then grew as more weathering took place and eventually got large enough to allow moisture to leak inside. This can then cause the wood decking beneath to become damaged by moisture. There is even potential for wood rot that will need replacement. This is all what a rain collar is in place to prevent.
This is an excellent example of why it is so important to have reliable protection on roof to prevent moisture damage, while this is a particularly severe case, it is not rare to see something like this. It is far too easy to ignore unseen problems until they are an emergency - but these issues should never be ignored.
