This dead valley was in bad shape after years of moisture wear and tear that was causing the wood beneath the shingles to rot at a slow but extremely noticeable pace. This moisture damage was also caused by the lack of an adequate seal around the flashing that was in place where the brick met the roof line. This caulking sealant should be kept an eye on annually so ensure that the seal is not going bad and cracking and allowing for moisture to get inside. Thankfully, our crews were able to make it out there and provide the decking replacement to replace the wood rot and install ice and water shield before installing brand new shingles making the area moisture tight and ready to endure the harsh winter weather to come!
