Originally, Julie and Jim H from Zionsville, IN called Bone Dry to have their skylights repaired/replaced by the Roofing division. It was noted that their two chimneys were in need of help as well, so we sent Cody from the Masonry team out to inspect the damage. The smaller chimney had lots of crooked, cracking, and sagging bricks. The paint was peeling, the mortar was cracking, and the crown was starting to crumble. The bigger chimney was in a little better shape, with only an eroding crown and some damaged brickwork. There were also a couple of paver steps that were looking a bit shabby. Bone Dry Masonry was excited to tackle the job!

We tore down the smaller chimney completely, rebuilding up the 400 bricks and installing a flue tile while reusing the rain cap and flashing. We also poured a new concrete crown…all was new and beautiful by the end! Tuck pointing was called for on the larger chimney. Approximately 110 joints were done and there was some replacing of the more damaged bricks. This chimney got 5 new flue tiles, and a big stainless steel multi flue covering on top! Water repellent was also applied to both chimneys, and they were all set!

On to the brick paver steps, we took care of some tuck pointing, resetting any pavers that were out of place.
