Need a chimney sweep? We’re here to help!

Since a damaged, deteriorating, or blocked chimney can cause chimney fires or carbon monoxide poisoning, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends having a chimney cleaning and inspection performed each year.

Our contractors are fully trained and certified to provide safe and effective chimney sweeping.

Why is a routine chimney sweep & maintenance important?

Every time you burn a fire in your fireplace, combustible by-products are deposited in the chimney flue in the form of creosote and soot. Creosote is a black, tar-like residue that is extremely flammable and soot is the minuscule, powder-like substance which colors smoke and consists chiefly of carbon. Hot embers from your wood burning fire may come in contact with these flammable deposits and potentially start a dangerous chimney fire.

The buildup of creosote and soot can also cause a dangerous blockage that not only interferes with the performance and efficiency of your fireplace but lead to carbon monoxide backing up in your living area.

What to Expect

During your chimney inspection and cleaning, we will:

  • Lay down floor protections and set up vacuum for dust control
  • Remove creosote buildup from flue lining
  • Clear blockages from your liner, smoke chamber, firebox, and damper, if necessary
  • Perform a camera scan of the chimney interior, looking for fire hazards, water intrusion, ventilation issues, or any fire damage that may be present

Your technician will also cover your floor and furniture with drop cloths and use a HEPA vacuum filter to keep dirt and debris from your chimney out of your home.

In addition to reducing your risk of a chimney fire and improving your home’s air quality, regular chimney cleanings and inspections can also help prevent expensive damage, saving you money and hassle in the long run.
